Mozilla wants to cover all popular operating systems with its Firefox browser. That is why there’s Firefox for Windows, Firefox for Mac, and Firefox for Linux. The Pale Moon project on the other hand focuses on Windows alone. And more to the point, it does not want you to lose speed and efficiency when using Firefox on a Windows-powered machine. The Moon Pale browser takes the wonderful functionality Firefox has to offer and ensures you don’t lose a drop of performance when using it on your Windows PC.

The setup wizard that guides you through the Pale Moon installation process asks you to choose between a Standard Installation (the browser will be installed with the most common options) and a Custom Installation (you get to pick the installation directory, choose if you want shortcuts in the Start menu and on the desktop, pick if you want to make Pale Moon your default web browser). Once you’re done and you start Pale Moon, you will be invited to import data from other browsers you may have on your PC, like Google’s Chrome, for example.

On the Pale Moon Start page you will see links to Gmail, Wikipedia, Facebook, IMDb, and more.
On the Pale Moon Congratulations page you will see info on how to migrate your Firefox profile to Pale Moon and how to dress up your Pale Moon browser.

From a visual point of view, Pale Moon is the same as Firefox. You have the same layout and the same customization options. As a passionate Firefox user, I immediately felt at home with the application’s interface.
It’s the same story from a functionality point of view – everything that Firefox can do, Pale Moon does it too. The difference is that Pale Moon is a custom-built and optimized Firefox version for Windows. You get Firefox’s interface and Firefox’s functionality – but custom built so it runs at top speed on your PC.

Just like Firefox, Pale Moon is free. Do consider making a donation if you enjoy using this browser and you want to support its development.

Pale Moon takes the Firefox browser and optimizes it for speed on Windows. As a PC user you will enjoy using this browser to surf the web.

Pros

Installing Pale Moon on a Windows PC is an effortless task. Firefox users will immediately feel at home with the interface. Pale Moon delivers the same sort of functionality Firefox has to offer. Pale Moon is a custom-built and optimized Firefox version for Windows; it puts the emphasis on speed and efficiency. Pale Moon is free (consider making a donation).

Cons

None that I could think of.
